María del Carmen García Galisteo , artistically known as Carmen Sevilla (Seville, Spain, October 16, 1931) is an actress, singer, dancer and hostess of Spanish television.

María del Carmen García Galisteo was born in the neighborhood of Heliopolis in Seville on October 16, 1930. Daughter of Antonio García Padilla, (died on February 17, 1987 in Madrid) and Florentina Galisteo Ramírez (October 10, 1904 – July 23, 2004.) Granddaughter of José García Rufino (1875-1943), an Andalusian satirist journalist and Catalina Padilla Ragares being his paternal grandparents. She is the older sister of Antonio (1932-26 / 07/1999) and José (? -24/08/2015) García Galisteo.

From an early age she was familiar with the art world. After the war his family moved to Madrid and there he was able to attend the conservatory. Due to the great artistic influence that existed in her house because her grandfather and her father were lyricists and wrote songs for the films of Imperio Argentina, Concha Piquer or Estrellita Castro, she felt very close to the artistic world.

He married on February 23, 1961, in the basilica of Our Lady of Pilar in Zaragoza, with the composer Augusto Algueró Dasca. From that marriage he had his only son, Augusto José Algueró García, also a composer on July 3, 1964. In 1974 he separated from Augusto Algueró, from whom he would later divorce.

Shortly after his divorce began his courtship with the film entrepreneur Vicente Patuel Sánchez de Molina (1931-2000). After a decade of courtship, on September 5, 1985, she remarried in Arcos de la Frontera (Cádiz).

After his second marriage he dedicated himself mainly to his marriage, to domestic life and to the breeding of sheep in a livestock farm in Herrera del Duque in the province of Badajoz. In addition to his withdrawal from cinema, his artistic and professional activity declined considerably compared to previous decades. However, she continued to attend as a guest to television programs where she was interviewed and where she also played her most popular songs.

In 1987, his father, Antonio García, died. In 2004, his mother, Flora Galisteo, did it.
