Brock Lesnar Short Bio

Brock Edward Lesnar (Webster, South Dakota, July 12, 1977) is a former football player, mixed martial arts fighter and American professional wrestler who currently works for WWE in the Raw brand, where he is the current WWE Universal Champion.

In addition, he was 3 times Southern Tag Team Champion of the OVW with Shelton Benjamin; and became a UFC Heavyweight Champion once, making him the only wrestler to win the main championships of two different sports such as professional wrestling and mixed martial arts.

After debuting on the WWE’s main roster in 2002, he won the WWE Championship on three separate occasions with victories over The Rock and Kurt Angle (twice). Lesnar won his first WWE Championship five months after his debut on the main roster at the age of 25, becoming the youngest WWE Champion in history.

After his fight with Goldberg at WrestleMania XX, Lesnar left the WWE and pursued a career in the National Football League (NFL).

He played during the preseason as a defensive tackle for the Minnesota Vikings, but was cut before the start of the 2004-05 season.

In 2005, Lesnar returned to professional wrestling and signed with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), where he won the IWGP Heavyweight Championship in his first fight. After a contractual dispute with NJPW, he also fought as IWGP Heavyweight Champion in the Inoki Genome Federation (IGF).

In 2006, Lesnar pursued a career in mixed martial arts (MMA). After winning his first fight against Kim Min-Soo in June 2007, he signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in October of that year. Lesnar lost in his UFC debut against Frank Mir and then won his second fight against Heath Herring. In November 2008, Lesnar defeated Randy Couture to become the UFC Heavyweight Champion. Shortly after a successful title defense in a rematch with Mir, Lesnar was sidelined due to diverticulitis. He would return at UFC 116 to defeat Interim Heavyweight Champion Shane Carwin and unify the heavyweight championships, becoming the Indisputed Heavyweight Champion. Lesnar then lost the championship to Cain Velásquez at UFC 121. In 2011, he was out once again due to diverticulitis and underwent surgery, Lesnar returned to UFC 141 in December, losing to Alistair Overeem and quickly retiring from MMA. 11] Lesnar was a blockbuster in the UFC. He took part in some of the best selling events in UFC history, including the UFC 100 main covenant, the UFC’s highest sales event. [12] Due to event bonuses and purses for wrestling, Lesnar He became the highest-paid UFC fighter in 2010 and was on ESPN’s list of top-paid athletes in 30 sports. [13]

In April 2012, Lesnar returned to professional wrestling, rejoining the WWE after an absence of eight years. In April 2014, at WrestleMania XXX, Lesnar ended the unbeaten streak of The Undertaker at WrestleMania being, without doubt, one of his greatest achievements. Later, at SummerSlam, he defeated John Cena to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion for the fourth time. Lesnar has had an on-screen collaboration with manager Paul Heyman for most of his professional wrestling career. He has spearheaded numerous pay-per-view events for WWE, including WrestleMania XIX and WrestleMania 31. In 2015, ESPN published an article in which he called Lesnar “the most devoted athlete in the history of wrestling”. [14]
