Brett Lorenzo Favre (Gulfport, Mississippi, October 10, 1969), better known as Brett Favre , is a former professional football player. Throughout his career he played in the position of quarterback in the Atlanta Falcons (1991), Green Bay Packers (1992-2007), New York Jets (2008), and in the Minnesota Vikings (2009-2010).

Favre is one of two quarterbacks in NFL history to throw for more than 70 & nbsp; 000 yards, one of two to send for more than 500 touchdowns, allow more than 300 interceptions and the only one to throw more than 10 & nbsp; 000 pass attempts. Throughout his career he was selected for 11 Pro Bowls (the record is 14 appearances in this Bowl).

A professional since the 1991 season, Favre has been awarded the NFL MVP (Most Valuable Player), in three seasons consecutively in 1995, 1996 and 1997. He led the Packers to two Super Bowls, winning against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXI of 1996, and losing in Super Bowl XXXII of 1997 against the Denver Broncos commanded by the legendary John Elway.

It has the NFL record of 297 consecutive games started, 321 if the postseason games are taken into account.

In the list of the 100 best players in the history of the NFL published on November 4, 2010, Favre was ranked as the sixth best QB and the twentieth global player of all time.

After his retirement, Favre has practically secured his place in the Hall of Fame or The Immortal Precinct in Canton, Ohio.

Although Favre was born in Gulfport, Mississippi, he grew up in the small town of Kiln. He is of French descent and choctaw, one of his paternal grandparents was a Native American belonging to that ethnic group. He is the second of four children, attended North Central High School, where he played baseball and football. In addition to QB, he also played as a lineman, strong safety, field goal kicker and kicker as a first choice, as trained by his father, Irvin Favre.

Irvin said he knew that his son had a big arm, but he also knew that schools preferred good runners. As a result, in the three years that Brett played under his father’s tutelage, the team had an offensive game aimed at the terrestrial game known as a wishbone (two halfbacks and a fullback). Rarely did the young Favre throw more than five passes in a game.
