Brad_Jordan’s Biography

His nickname, he admits, comes from the movie Scarface, because according to what he has told in interviews, he feels in many ways like the protagonist, Tony Montana. He began his solo career in 1991, becoming one of the most popular rappers in the south of the country and still maintaining ties with the Geto Boys. It began with the pseudonym of Akshen with Rap-A-Lot Records, a label of the city of Houston. At the end of the ’80s, Scarface worked with his group, Geto Boys, with which he debuted with the album Making Trouble. But without a doubt, the LP that most success reported to the group was We Can not Be Stopped, with which they added a good number of fans, despite their violent lyrics that kept them away from the radio and MTV. That same year, in 1991, Scarface published his solo debut with Mr. Scarface Is Back. The album triumphed, and the popularity of Scarface would soon eclipse that of the other members of the Geto Boys. Scarface left the group and continued to release albums despite the fact that the number of sales decreased, until in 2000 he returned to fill big sales and a good review with the album Last of a Dying Breed. He was also named composer of the year by Source Awards. After this admirable work he released in 2002 The Fix, where he collaborated with artists such as Jay-Z, Master P, G-Unit, Jadakiss, Faith Evans, Chamillionaire, Tupac, Nas, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Beanie Sigel, Young Jeezy, Too Short, Bun B, Raekwon and Gang Starr. His characteristic of exaggerating the voice is peculiar, which together with his good technique when it comes to rapping, make Scarface one of the most respected MCs. Lately he has appeared in The Biggie Duets (along with Big Gee and Akon) and in the remix of “Southside”, Lloyd’s song that he sings with Ashanti. In 2008, he announced that he was retiring and leaving the presidency of Def Jam South (post that would be awarded to DJ Khaled) according to an interview with HipHopDX.com. In 2014 he participated in the Funkadelic album “Shake the Gate”, and would participate in the new Parliament album released in 2015 or 2016 even without a definite name.
