Boris Franz Becker , November 22, 1967 is a retired tennis player from Germany

On July 1, 1985, he became the first player who was not seeded, the first German and the youngest (17 years and 7 months) to win Wimbledon.

Becker won 49 individual tournaments and 15 doubles. In singles, the tennis player won six Grand Slam titles: Wimbledon in 1985, 1986 and 1989, the Australian Open in 1991 and 1996, and the 1989 US Open. In Grand Slam he reached 10 finals and 18 semifinals, three of them at Roland Garros.

He won 13 Grand Prix Championship Series / ATP Masters Series titles, all on hard court, plus 21 finals. He also obtained three titles in the Masters Grand Prix / ATP Tour World Championships of 1988, 1992 and 1995.

On the other hand, he won the 1988 Davis Cup and 1989 with the German national team. He also won the men’s doubles gold medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games alongside Michael Stich. He was number 1 in the ATP ranking for 12 weeks in 1991. The earnings for his career add up to a total of 25 million dollars.

After his retirement Becker was a tennis commentator on the British BBC network between 2002 and 2013. From the 2014 to 2016 season he was the coach of tennis player Novak Djokovic.

Becker has played on the Senior ATP Tour. His complete autobiography was published in November 2003. He is a member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island.
