William Matthew «Billy» Currington (Savannah, Georgia, November 19, 1973) is an American country music singer.

In 2003, he signed with Mercury Nashville Records, where he recorded three albums: Billy Currington (2003), Doin ‘somethin’ right (2005), Little bit of everything (2008), Enjoy yourself (2010) and We are tonight ( 2013). In addition, he has sung with singer Shania Twain in the duo Party for two.

Billy Currington was born in Savannah, Georgia, on November 19, 1973, and grew up in Rincon, Georgia. He had four sisters and two brothers, and when he was a year and a half his mother married Larry Currington.

As a student at Effingham County High School he auditioned for an advertisement for Opryland, Nashville’s country music theme park. Despite the failure, once finished his studies, he moved to Nashville to continue his musical career. There he worked as a personal trainer, and one of his clients helped him record his first songs and write songs. After joining RCA Records, he signed in 2003 with the company Mercury Records.
