Berinthia “ Berry ” Berenson Perkins (April 14, 1948 – September 11, 2001) was a photographer, actress and model American. She was the sister of the most famous Marisa Berenson and wife of actor Anthony Perkins. She died during the September 11 attacks as a passenger on American Airlines flight 11.
Berinthia Berenson was the youngest daughter of Robert L. Berenson, an American diplomat of Lithuanian and Jewish descent; His real family name was Valvrojenski, whose mother was Countess Maria Luisa Yvonne Radha de Wendt de Kerlor, better known as Gogo Schiaparelli, a lady of Italian, Swiss, French and Egyptian ancestry.
His maternal grandmother was the Italian fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli, and his maternal grandfather, Count Wilhelm de Wendt de Kerlor, a theosophist and medium, his elder sister, Marisa Berenson, became a recognized model and actress who came to work with Stanley Kubrick (Barry Lyndon). Berry was also the great-grandniece niece of Giovanni Schiaparelli, an Italian astronomer who believed he had discovered the so-called canals of Mars, and great-grandniece niece also of art expert Bernard Berenson (1865-1959) and his sister Senda Berenson (1868-1954) , an athlete and educator who was one of the first two women to enter the Basketball Hall of Fame.
After a brief career as a model in the late 1960s, Berenson dedicated herself to being an independent photographer. By 1973, his photographs had been published in the magazines Life, Glamor, Vogue and Newsweek.
He also worked on several feature films, including Cat People, with Malcolm McDowell. In 1978, he starred opposite Anthony Perkins in the film Remember My Name by Alan Rudolph and in 1979 he shared screen with Jeff Bridges in Winter Kills.
On August 9, 1973, in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Berenson married the actor Anthony Perkins. They had two children: the actor and musician Oz Perkins (born February 2, 1974) and the singer Elvis Perkins (born February 9, 1976). They remained married until the death of Perkins, caused by AIDS, the 12th. September 1992.
Berenson died at the age of fifty-three, during the attacks of September 11, 2001. She was one of the passengers on American Airlines flight 11; he was returning to his California home after a vacation in Cape Cod.
