Benjamin Lee Kenney (born May 20, 1969), is a musician from Brielle, NJ United States, and the bassist of the band Incubus.

Ben Kenney played guitar for the hip-hop group The Roots before joining Incubus in 2003 after the departure of bassist and founding member Alex Katunich Dirk Lance. Previously, he had played with the members of Incubus Mike Einziger and José Pasillas in the Time Lapse Consortium.

He has been part of studio work with artists such as: Justin Timberlake, Faith Evans, Erykah Badu, Blackalicious, Timbaland and DJ Jazzy Jeff.

It is known that Ben can play 6 different instruments, he could be considered as a multi-instrumentalist since he plays the electric guitar, electric bass, drums, sings and is a composer of his own records, sometimes doing solo drums with José Pasillas, the Incubus drummer live on stage.

Ben has four solo albums: 26, released in 2004; Maduro, released in 2006, The Distance and Comfort, released in 2008 and Burn The Tapes, released in 2010. Where they were all released from the record company created by Ben, Ghetto Crush Industries. Ghetto Crush Industries has released music from the following bands: The Division Group, Aleda, and Root Valdez. Ben has been helpful for the band The Smyrk since he produced his EP, New Fiction.

Kenney’s introduction into the group marked a change in the sound of the band. Their tight rhythms and their sound influenced by hip hop replace the funky bass lines of the previous bassist Dirk Lance. Apart from changing the rhythm and style of work of Incubus, he also added choruses to the band’s new songs, adding additional harmonies to each song, such as those that can be heard in the songs agoraphobia, Pendulous Threads, Diamonds and Coal among others .

He usually plays in free time with his other group, The Division Group, (formerly known as Supergrub) with Neal Evans of Soulive and Ashley Mendel, in which they sometimes make new versions of songs by Ben Kenney, such as : Nutt Today (which is originally Not Today).
