It is one of the Myths of the Seventh Art and one of the most emblematic fatal women in the history of cinema.

His real name was Ruby Catherine Stevens . The youngest of five children, her mother died when she was very young and her father left her soon after, and she grew up with several families.

He started working as a telephone operator, and also as a showgirl in different vaudeville shows. Later he would get to work on Broadway, where he met his first husband, the controversial actor Frank Fay, and with whom he went to Los Angeles to try to start a film career. It is said that the screenplay for the film A Star is Born by William A. Wellman is based on her conflicted marriage and her husband’s obsession with making her a star.
