Audie Leon Murphy (June 20, 1925 – May 28, 1971) was an American soldier and artist, distinguished for obtaining the largest number of existing decorations in the United States Army until the moment. In 27 months of combat action in World War II, he was wounded three times, and he was credited with participating in more than 300 missions and having commanded many others. Murphy became the most decorated American soldier of the Second World War. He received the Medal of Honor, the highest military award in the USA. for its value, along with 32 medals from the USA, five from France, and one from Belgium. He received all the US medals He won the Silver Star twice in three days, three Purple Hearts and the Cross of Distinguished Services.
