Anne Morrow Lindbergh ( Anne Spencer Morrow , Englewood, New Jersey, June 22, 1906 – Vermont, February 7, 2001) was an American writer and aviator. She was the daughter of American businessman and politician Dwight Morrow and his wife, Elizabeth Cutter Morrow, a poet and advocate for women’s education. He obtained his degree in Philosophy and Letters in 1928 and the following year he married the engineer and aviator Charles Lindbergh, whom he met in Mexico when his father brought him as a sign of goodwill, as he was very famous because he had just flown over the Atlantic without scales. The Lindbergh went on their honeymoon to Acapulco, then fashionable among young people who wanted to go on an adventure, because the road was not yet finished well. Anne Morrow and her husband had six children, one of whom, Charles Jr., was kidnapped and murdered when he was a 20-month-old baby. Following the fact, in the USA Kidnapping is punishable by death and the law that so provides is called Lindbergh Law.
After 45 years of marriage, Charles Lindbergh died in 1974. His personal trajectory had become difficult and he had stopped being a national hero to become a very controversial character. After several episodes of stroke in the 1990s, Anne died in 2001 at her home in Vermont at the age of 94.
