Anna_Nicole_Smith’s Biography

Childhood and youth

She was born in Mexia, a suburb of Houston 127 miles south of Dallas, and was abandoned by her father when she was a child. Raised by her mother and aunt, Anna Nicole used to say that when she grew up she wanted to be “the new Marilyn Monroe.” At the end of her adolescence she worked as a waitress and it was rumored that she married an anonymous cook. In 1985, at the age of 17, he married Billy Smith and had his first child: Daniel (who died at the age of 20 in September 2006 at Doctors Hospital in Nassau, Bahamas). The marriage lasted three years and served as a single mother. When she was 20 years old, she started working in places where she received a low salary and, while practicing as an exotic dancer under pseudonyms, Nikki, Robin and Anna Nicole met the assiduous client and billionaire J. Howard Marshall.

Race as a model and Playboy

At 25 years old, it was the playmate of March 1992 under the name Vicky Smith. Thanks to the appearance in the famous magazine, Guess? he chose it as the successor of Claudia Schiffer as the image of his advertising campaign. In May of that same year, she returned to star in the cover of Playboy and came to be considered as “the new Marilyn Monroe”: tall, blonde and with a perfect figure. He even wore a hairstyle similar to that of the late actress. A year later was chosen the playmate of the year and became known as Anna Nicole Smith.

Last months

In the last months of her life, the actress experienced two very shocking moments: she gave birth to Dannielynn Birkhead on September 7, 2006 at the Doctors Hospital in Nassau (Bahamas) and four days later they found her son dead Daniel, who at that time was 20 years old, in one of the rooms of the hospital where his little sister had been born, whom he had gone to meet. The second autopsy, performed by the forensic contracted by the actress Cyril Wecht, revealed that the young man had died from a lethal combination of drugs: Daniel was taking methadone, Zoloft and Lexapro.

Death

On February 8, 2007 Anna Nicole Smith died, after losing consciousness while she was staying at the Seminole Hard Rock Cafe hotel and casino in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The autopsy revealed that the model drowned in her own vomit, after passing out from having ingested an overdose of methadone. At a press conference, coroner Joshua Perper explained that Smith died as a result of ingesting prescription drugs and that his death was “accidental”, with no suspicious signs of another cause. Perper, who performed the autopsy on Smith’s body, said that the trace of “numerous drugs in the system” of the former model was detected, but none “illegal”, so his death is attributed to the interaction of “multiple” drugs and an “infection”. Smith had taken anti-depressant and anti-anxiety medications, as well as diet pills, methadone, and injected him with hormones for growth and vitamin B-12 on one of his thighs. Before his death, the coroner continued, the former model had ingested antibiotics to fight the flu, as well as a substance called chloralhydrate, used to sleep, a cocktail that caused fatal “poisoning”. For his part, Charlie Tiger, chief of police, said that no “criminal elements” or anything “illegal” was detected in the death of Anna Nicole Smith.

On February 18, 2007, the body of Anna Nicole Smith was embalmed after a court order allowing the procedure, according to Joshua Perper, Broward County coroner, two embalmers finished their work at noon on Saturday 17 February, promising not to speak or write about Anna’s body, would not be photographed or drawn.

Her family wanted to fulfill Anna’s last wish, to be buried in the Westwood Memorial Park cemetery with her top idol: Marilyn Monroe, however, attorney Howard K. Stern, partner of the deceased model, won the dispute legal support he had with Smith’s mother, Virgie Arthur, to resolve where she would be buried. Anna’s body would be buried in the Bahamas, next to the grave of her son Daniel. The funeral was scheduled for February 27, 2007, but Arthur managed to file an emergency appeal to prevent his daughter from being buried there.

On February 28, 2007, the Florida Court of Appeals upheld the decision of Virgie Arthur to waive custody of her daughter’s body, as evidence indicated that Anna Nicole Smith’s last wish was to be buried together to his son Daniel in The Bahamas.

On Friday, March 2, 2007, Anna Nicole Smith was finally buried in the Bahamas, the body of the model was transferred from a morgue to the Miami airport in the early morning, under the watchful eye of the paparazzi. After hours of flight, the coffin landed in Nassau and was taken to Mount Horeben church where 300 people waited, who were given pink and red roses, in memory of the deceased model, and heart-shaped cards to leave messages about his burial. Smith’s boyfriend, Howard K. Stern, greeted a group of onlookers who wanted to witness Smith’s funeral behind the bars that guarded the privacy of the event, including residents, tourists and paparazzi, however, only some graphic reporters they had access to the church.

After the ceremony, Anna was buried in the Lakeview cemetery with her son Daniel, fulfilling the will expressed by Anna in her will.

Posthumous Disputes

Due to the inheritance left by Anna Nicole Smith to her daughter Dannielynn, which is estimated at around 80 million dollars, five men claimed the paternity of the girl: the lawyer Howard Stern, the photographer Larry Birkhead, Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt (husband of actress Zsa Zsa Gabor) and bodyguard Alex Denk, however, after months of legal battles, DNA tests revealed that the father of the child is Larry Birkhead.

Marriages and offspring

Anna Nicole Smith met a young man named Billy Wayne Smith (born in 1968), they were co-workers at the KFC fast-food chain, they fell in love and just a few months later they got married on April 4 of 1985, in Limestone County (Texas). She was 17 years old and he was 16. They had a son: Daniel Wayne Smith (January 22, 1986 – September 10, 2006, found dead at 20 years in a hotel room apparently by an overdose). The couple separated in 1987 and obtained a divorce in February 1993.

His second marriage, very controversial, was with the billionaire James Howard Marshall (January 24, 1905 – August 4, 1995). They met in Houston in 1991 when she worked as a dancer doing topless, and Anna Nicole and Marshall got married (for him it was her third marriage and for her the second) on June 27, 1994, when she was 26 and he was 90. Howard Marshall died a few months after a heart attack and Anna Nicole did not inherit all her fortune.

On September 7, 2006 his second daughter, Dannielynn Hope Marshall Birkhead (father is Larry Birkhead (1973)) was born. Dannielynn was named after her mother, in honor of her brother Daniel who had died three days before, and only 5 months after the birth of her daughter, on February 8, 2007, Anna Nicole died of an overdose of methadone. p>
