Andrew Russell Garfield (Los Angeles, August 20, 1983) is a British-American actor and producer nominated for an Oscar Award. Despite being born in Los Angeles, he grew up in Epsom, Surrey, where he began acting in theaters and television productions. His film debut came in 2007, with the drama directed by Robert Redford Lions for lambs. A year later he starred in Boy A and for his performance in this he won a BAFTA Award.
He rose to international fame when he played Eduardo Saverin in the 2010 drama The social network, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination and BAFTA. That year he also had a supporting role in Never Leave Me, for which he was a candidate again for BAFTA and the Saturn Award. Subsequently, he received praise from the press with his portrayal of Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man with Emma Stone with whom he would maintain a love relationship until 2015. He repeated this role in 2014 with The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro.
Regarding the theater, in 2012 he starred in the Broadway production Death of a Salesman, where he played Biff and shared the cast with Philip Seymour Hoffman. For his performance he was a candidate for the Tony Award. His foray into production occurred in 2014 with the thriller 99 Homes.
