Aesop Rock Short Bio

Aesop Rock (named Ian Bavitz ) is an underground rapper and hip hop producer, whose works have been acclaimed for their originality, intensity and depth, in general. .

He started editing in 1997, when he released the EP Music for the Earthworms, released on CD-R, in the same format he released another EP Apleseed, after this he jumped into the professional market with the Float, an LP released on the 2000, which has collaborations of the likes of Cannibal Ox, Slug and Dose One. The following year he released another LP entitled Labor Days , always with Blockhead carrying much of the production with Aesop himself. The central theme of the album is the garbage salary that many “slaves” receive in the US. UU The album was well known for the song “Daylight”, whose unmistakable chorus has been told by many people: “All I ever wanted was to pick apart the day, put the pieces back together my way” (“What I always wanted was to set aside set aside the day, put the pieces back together in my own way. “) Due to this popularity, Daylight was re-released in 2002 on a 7-track EP, including a new version of the song, Nightlight, the lyrics of this one they adopt a position opposed to the original, their rhymes always twisted and full of references centered on New York, its people and the lives of working people.

He has also released a couple of EPs and a third LP, Bazooka Tooth , much more Martian, and in which he has practically only the entire production, very influenced by El-P leader of the label Definitive Jux, which publishes its discs. The fourth and last EP was released in February 2005, Fast Cars, Danger, Fire and Knives . The EP includes an 88-page booklet entitled The Living Human Curiosity Sideshow with lyrics of all his works, from the “Float” to this one.
